Richard Nares Heart & Sole Run For Emilio

VICTORY LAP/CELEBRATION

The Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) was founded in 2003 by Richard and Diane Nares after losing their son Emilio to cancer just shy of his 6th birthday. ENF is a nonprofit organization that helps families navigate their child’s journey through cancer, and support each child's best chance of recovery.

On June 4th, Richard started running 1700 miles from SEATTLE to SAN DIEGO stopping at a total of 9 children's hospitals along his route to raise funds and interest in ENF programs as ENF prepares their our expansion!

The event on Sunday, Aug 19 was a celebration of this journey as he ran his last mile with a group of dedicated supporters. It was an honor to photograph this very special morning and meet Richard, Diane, and their team.

Nine Girls Ask Members Make a BIG donation

Nine Girls Ask? for a cure for Ovarian Cancer put on another wonderful luncheon, boutique and auction on Sept 24th at the U.S. Grant Hotel. The theme was "Angels of Hope" and the decor was the bright colors and decorations celebrating the Rio Olympics. The big treat was Samba dancers complete with feathers and sparkles.

Best of all, Joan and her team were thrilled to present a big check (literally) for $480,000 to Moore's Cancer Center to help find a cure.

I was happy to photograph the event and offer my $500 luxury portrait gift certificates for a $100 donation to help with the fundraising efforts. These are still available through Nov 15th if anyone missed out. Feel free to call me at 619-233-9390 to make arrangement. Contact me as well if you would like to purchase any of these photographs.

I know everyone in attendance had a great time and looks forward to next year. Be sure to check out the entire gallery.

Tierra Bonita STARS Dinner Auction Event

What a fun evening at the Maderas Country Club in Poway put on by Tierra Bonita Education Foundation to raise funds for the STARS program. STARS stands for Science, Technology, Arts and Reading which represent the four core educational areas hurt most by the funding cuts for our public school. This event is to raise funds to supplement these subjects for their kids.

The sunset, the view, the food and drink, the auction items and the guests were all made it a lovely evening. I was happy to support the event with my photography and donation of portrait session gift certificates as well as my one hour mentoring session.

I have a few certificate still available through March 31st of $500 portrait gift certificate for a $100 donation to TBEF. Please call 619-233-9390 or email me at luci@lucidumas.com if you would like to arrange for this thank you gift.

Chinese New Year Gala for SD Chinese Historical Society

The Year of the Monkey is almost here and the celebration, fundraiser and banquet for the San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum at The Pearl Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo was so beautiful, lively, and delicious. I loved being a part of the evening and photographing the colorful evening.

My offer of a $500 Luxury Gift Certificate for Luci Dumas Fine Photography was a success. As a courtesy, I am extending this offer until February 15th if you missed it and still want to donate and receive this thank you gift. Call me at 619-233-9390 to make arrangements.

Take My Hand/ Nine Girls Ask 2015

The theme was "Take My Hand" for the 7th annual Nine Girls Ask for a cure for Ovarian Cancer luncheon. Joan Wyllie and her team of volunteers once again created an amazing event to help find a cure and to offer support and hope for women battling this "not so silent" disease.

The morning started with champagne, boutique shopping and silent auction items.

The guests were welcomed into the ballroom by guitarist and lead singer, "Super Diamond's" Randy Cordera from San Franscisco.  Inspiration came from a discussion between Liz Laats, survivor of Ovarian Cancer and Kelly Corrigan, NYT Best Selling Author. They invited everyone to take their hands and find a cure. After the program there was a hotly contested Live Auction with great items.
I am so honored to be a part of this event every year.
