Kid's Turn Event at the Tin Roof

What a fun evening at the Tin Roof in downtown San Diego socializing and fundraising for a great organization. Kids’ Turn San Diego is a nonprofit organization that offers an effective educational program to help the whole family through separation, divorce and military transitions. You know that I am a big fan of kids and happy to support organizations that improve their lives.

Ann Marie Houghtailing performed her hilarious and insightful one woman show "Raising Humans" to a sold out audience and everyone had a great time, including me.

An inspiring afternoon at "Someone Lived" !

What a lovely afternoon with the Clearity Foundation at the home of Melissa and Jason Levin in the RSF area! I feel so fortunate to have been a part of this event for the 4th year volunteering my services and raffle prizes.  The event was to raise awareness, funds and to celebrate those who are helping find a cure and support women and their families with ovarian cancer. Clearity  was founded by Dr. Laura Shawyer to help ovarian cancer patients discover the best options for their cancer treatments.

I can't wait to create amazing photographic experiences for families that won my donated gift certificates at the raffle! Portraits of children and families are the heart of Luci Dumas Fine Photography and have been for over 30 years.

Enjoy the entire gallery of this event. Though these are created to support Clearity and share with the guest, if you are interested purchasing any for personal use you are welcome to contact me

MS Gala at Beautiful Loew's Coronado

The theme was "Agents of Change" and over $500,000 was raised to help create change...a world free of MS. The views from the hotel were glorious but the guests in their evening attire were even more gorgeous.  I have not met a nicer group of volunteers and the attendees seemed to be having a great time while supporting this dream of an end to MS.

Even though my first love and business is creating beautiful portrait that become art in my client's homes and a part of their family legacy, I love volunteering for such wonderful events and offering my portraits in the silent auction as well. Thanks to Jessica for including me!

Eric and Claire finally tie the knot

It was such a special day in Laie on Oahu being with Kevin and Claire when, after 17 years, they decided to make it official. She has been a friend for 30 years and I was happy that she let me take some photographs of the wedding on the beach and a few posed portraits. The day at the Polynesian Cultural Center was also a blast with 25 of her friends and family.

Nine Girls Keep Asking

It was a special morning at the US Grant Hotel in San Diego when over 600 supporters of Nine Girls Asked, a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for ovarian cancer, attended the annual luncheon and fund raiser. Susan Taylor MC'ed the program that celebrated women who have inspired others in their journey with this illness.

Joan Wyllie and the rest of her family (nine women and the men who love them) as well as a team of volunteers are asking for a cure for a disease that needs much more research and attention. Nine Girls also offers support and guidance for women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

I am always so honored to photograph the event and offer my portrait certificates to raise money for this wonderful organization.

Boys and Girls Club's African Safari

Youth-of-the-Year Gala, An African Safari Night

Any event that supports and celebrates kids living up to their potential is one I love to be involved with. This was a perfect evening at the Del Mar Racetrack with an African theme, including live animals, auction items, dancing, great food, horse racing, and fun attendees.

Congrats to Meliza Espinoza who was the 2014 overall youth of the year and Terry Lingenfelder who was Volunteer of the Year. I was happy to photograph the evening and donate gift certificates to the silent auction as well.

Clearity Foundations 3rd Annual "Someone Lived" Event

I think The Clearity Foundation has a special connection to the weatherman because it was a gorgeous evening, as usual, for this special evening designed to celebrate survival, hope and progress in changing the odds for women with ovarian cancer. The food by The Pamplemousse Grill was delicious (of course). The event honored Dr Michael Pellini, the Eide Family, and Nancy Hunter. To find out more about Clearity you can view their website at http://www.clearityfoundation.org/

Though I primarily photograph children and families at Luci Dumas Fine Photography, I love volunteering for events that help support those in need of healing and hope.
